Introduction to

Family Racquet Sports

A playful, movement-based event designed to help families experience the joy and fundamentals of racquet sports - together.
Each session focuses on a key component of racquet sports:
  • 1. Track - Learn how to follow and anticipate the path of the ball using large and small equipment (e.g. beach balls, foam balls, balloons)
  • 2. Receive - Practice receiving the ball with tools like paddles, rackets, and hands, building coordination and confidence.

  • 3. Deliver - Explore different ways to send the ball back - underhand, overhead, push, swing, using sport-specific movements from tennis, pickleball, and beyond.

  • 4. Play - Put it together in cooperative rally-based games for all ages and abilities.

  • The event is low-pressure, inclusive, and intentionally designed. for families to move, learn, and laugh together, regardless of prior experience.

Just Play! Junior Challengers

A match play experience where kids learn by simply doing what they love: Just Playing!.
Ages: 6-14
Level: Unrated to UTR 5.0.
Format: 2-3 Full Matches
Environment: Level-based, round robin
Location: Cold Spring Park Newtonville, MA (1og4 Beacon St Newton Highlands, MA o2461)
Day/Time: Tuesday & Thursday 3-6pm
Dates: June 23 - mid September
Cost: $3o. Scholarships available
Note: Not ready to play matches? No problem! Kids will learn with guided rally time with Coaches Dave and Dickie on a separate court to develop match-play skills

Just Play! NXTBall Summer Racquet. Sports

A play experience for beginners ages 5-11, where kids learn the. Basics of all racquet sports through fun, skill-based games.

Play alongside your brother or sister in this inclusive, family. friendly program!
Ages: 5-11 Level: Beginner / New to racquet sports Format: 1.5-hour sessions of rally games Environment: Fun-first, inclusive, skill-building.

Location: Cold Spring Park Newtonville, MA (1og4 Beacon St. Newton Highlands, MA o2461) Day/Time: Tuesday & Thursday 3-6pm (Participants attend for a 1.5-hour block) Dates: June 23 - mid September. Cost: $2o. Scholarships available.

Note: Sessions are designed around three fundamental elements. Tracking, receiving, and delivering -- using soft equipment. (paddles, foam ball, and 4-square net) and creative activities with coaching from Dave and Dickie.
